Re: my hijack log-- kewin118

Hello and welcome to TSF

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  1. Close all applications and windows.
  2. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  3. When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt <-this one will be minimized
  4. Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt here.
  5. Please attach extra.txt to your post.
To attach a file to a new post, simply
  1. Click the[Manage Attachments] button under Additional Options > Attach Files on the post composition page, and
  2. copy and paste the following into the "Upload File from your Computer" box:
    C:\Deckard\System Scanner\extra.txt
  3. Click Upload.
What DSS will do:
  • create a new System Restore point in Windows XP and Vista.
  • clean your Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, and Internet Cache Files, and also empty the Recycle Bin on all drives.
  • check some important areas of your system and produce a report for your analyst to review. DSS automatically runs HijackThis for you, but it will also install and place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop if you do not already have HijackThis installed.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with all the required logs

=============

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once the Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see a message that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

============

Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here.

Re: my hijack log-- kewin118

hi again, ok so i have the report.txt after the SDFix scan, but i have a problem on installing the combofix. After i drag the windowxp service pack thing on top of the combofix.exe. it says "it should automatically install windows recovery console onto ur computer and show up as a new option when booting up your computer." it try to start combofix when i drag the windowsxp service on top of combofix.exe. So... help please! xD

Once the Microsoft file has finished downloading, you should drag it on top of the ComboFix icon and let your mouse button go. This is shown in the following image.
ComboFix will now automatically install the Windows Recovery Console onto your computer, which will show up as a new option when booting up your computer. Do not select the Windows Recovery Console option when you start your computer unless requested to by a helper.

Re: my hijack log-- kewin118

Not sure exactly as to what you are saying, has Combofix install the recovery console or not, if so, carry on with the rest of the instructions; or are you saying that Combofix stalls when installing the recovery console.

As too the ComboFix will now automatically install the Windows Recovery Console onto your computer, which will show up as a new option when booting up your computer this is normal and nothing to worry about, so carry on with the instructions.

Re: my hijack log-- kewin118

ok. i guess i am a bit unclear.... um after i drag the windowxp service thing on top of combofix.exe it didnt install the Windows Recovery Console onto my computer. Instead, it tries to run the ComboFix.exe. In other words after i drag the windowsxp service on top of comfix.exe-- it skipped from step 3 -- Once the Microsoft file has finished downloading, you should drag it on top of the ComboFix icon and let your mouse button go. This is shown in the following image to starting the Comfix.exe.

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner

Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.
  • Click Run at the Security prompt.
  • The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database.
  • Please be patient as this can take several minutes.
  • Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
  • Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
  • Click View scan report at the bottom.
  • Click the Save Report As... button.
  • Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply.
**Note**

Animated Tutorial Here

To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
  • Close any open programs.
  • Turn off the real-time scanner of all antivirus or antispyware programs while performing the online scan.
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75%. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.

============

Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here.

Re: my hijack log-- kewin118

Hello

See here> http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...ys&svy=&csm=no

If you no longer have valid subscription to Norton, please enable Windows Firewall by:

*Clicking Start, click Run, type Firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
*On the General tab, click On (recommended), and then click OK.

Let me know if you are using Norton Internet Worm Protection or Windows Firewall.

Re: my hijack log-- kewin118

Do you still have a valid subscription to Norton, please carry on with the rest of the instructions and tell me answer once you have completed those steps in your next reply.
