Re: Yes another help thread :>(..
Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.
It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop. Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive% (Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix) Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please run DSS once again, and post it's log, main.txt

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs) if they exist: BrowsingEnhancer IEBrowse Tool IExplorer Bar Warning Center Windows Safety Alert You may receive notification that some of these items have already been uninstalled or are otherwise corrupt, would you like to remove them from the list. Click OK. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan Only'. Place a check next to the following entries if they exist (make sure you do not miss any) and click Fix Checked O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B8301AF7-D00E-4EA4-87C1-5FF4644FBBA1} - C:\Program Files\Web Technologies\iebt.dll (file missing) Close HijackThis now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Windows Explorer or Windows Search, locate and delete the following (if they still exxist): C:\VundoFix Backups C:\Program Files\BrowsingEnhancer C:\Program Files\Web Technologies C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhzpcn.dll Let me know if that poses any problems. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please run this online scan to help look for remnants. First, Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and remove Kaspersky online scanner if present prior to downloading the most up-to-date one. Next, establish an internet connection & perform an online scan using Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
**Note** To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How is the machine behaving now?

Re: Yes another help thread :>(..
Hi, did you save that log before applying the actions?

If not, you need to rescan, and take the actions.

Re: Yes another help thread :>(..
As to the Java, this is what Sun has to say about uninstalling if there are problems
If the normal uninstallation process (as mentioned above) fails, then please try Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. This tool will ensure that all irrelevant Java Runtime Environment Microsoft Installer (msi) registries are removed. Detailed information and download is available at: Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility Removal instructions: * Download the Microsoft Installer Clean Up utility file and save it on your desktop * Double click on executable file. The installation process will start. Follow the instructions accordingly * Once installation process is over, go to Start -> All Programs -> Run Windows Install Clean Up utility * This will launch the Windows Installer Clean Up utility dialog box * Under the Installed products list, select the desired JRE (Java) version that you want to remove * Click Remove and Exit

Re: Yes another help thread :>(..
Good work...some final instructions to remove tools and logs we've used, and better protect your machine in the future.
Please download OTCleanIt and save it to desktop.
========================================= Your logs appear clean. You should be good to go. We still have a few items to address. C:\System Volume Information\ is where System Restore's cache is stored. Whatever is in there can't harm you unless you choose to perform a manual restore. Nevertheless, we shall be resetting/clearing the cache in a little while. Reset hidden/system files and folders
Clear & Reset System Restore's Cache
Now that your system is clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you follow these steps and use the following free programs:
Here are some additional utilities that will further enhance your safety.
In light of your recent troubles, I'm sure you'll like to avoid any future infections. Please take a look at these well written articles If you want to fight back the Malware Writers that have made your life a misery, please take a look here and read what you can do against it. Please respond to this thread one more time so we can mark this thread as resolved.
