Please Help
I think I may have a variety of problems. I tried to follow all of the steps listed above, but I'm having problems connecting to the internet, soI was unable to complete the Panda scan.
I've tried to attach some screenshots to some of the new things popping up. I'm not sure which ones are real and which ones are viruses, but I thought I would show everything I've seen. I tried to run Spybot S&D, and it finds several coolWWW searches, and it says it fixed them. But as soon as I run it again, the same things are listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello, and Welcome to TSF.
Please subscribe to this thread to get immediate notification of replies as soon as they are posted. To do this click Thread Tools, then click Subscribe to this Thread. Make sure it is set to Instant Notification, then click Subscribe. Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download ComboFix from Here: * IMPORTANT !!! Place combofix.exe on your Desktop We will first use ComboFix to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console. The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode if needed. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.
Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log. If you have any questions along the way, STOP and ask them before proceeding.

Re: Please Help
Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.
It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Please Help
Things appear to be getting close to normal right now. The popups have disappeared. My clock is still in military time, not sure if that is intentional.

Re: Please Help
Looks much better.
Thanks for uploading the file. You may now delete [4]-Submit_2008-07-02@18.51.zip from your desktop. ================================== For restoring the military time ( ComboFix generally succeeds in restoring this, sometimes an AV interferes with that near the end of it's procedure) In the Control Panel (Classic View) select Regional and Language Options
================================== Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please run this online scan to help look for remnants. First, Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and remove Kaspersky online scanner if present prior to downloading the most up-to-date one. Next, establish an internet connection & perform an online scan using Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
**Note** To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Please Help
Morpheus also installs a toolbar which is considered adware
You can delete this file and still be able to use Morpheus, though as a P2P app, C:\Program Files\Morpheus\morpheustoolbar.exe The other items found by Kaspersky are located in various quarantines. When files found by other scanners are in the Recovery directory inside the Spybot-S&D directory, it is only a backup. It is no longer of any harm there, as the file won't be loaded from there. But once you are sure you don't need the backup, go to the Recovery section inside Spybot-S&D and purge the files. 1. Open Spybot. If you have a shortcut on your desktop, double click it. or Click Start, then All Programs, then Spybot - Search & Destroy and then Spybot - Search & Destroy. 2. On the left side, click "Recovery". 3. Select (place a check) beside ALL the backup files that contain quarantined items. 4. Click on the Purge Selected Items button. 5. A dialog will appear, stating that the backup will be removed. Click Yes. 6. When the Recovery window is empty, Exit Spybot. Please use Symantec's guide to remove the Norton Quarantine files. The rest of the items found by Kaspersky will be addressed by uninstalling ComboFix as instructed below. Your logs appear clean. You should be good to go. We still have a few items to address. Go to -> Run -> copy/paste in the following single line command & click OKcombofix /u This will uninstall ComboFix. It will also implement some cleanup procedures and reset System Restore points. Now that your system is clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you follow these steps and use the following free programs:
Scan here http://secunia.com/software_inspector/ for out of date & vulnerable common applications on your computer Here are some additional utilities that will further enhance your safety.
In light of your recent troubles, I'm sure you'll like to avoid any future infections. Please take a look at these well written articles If you want to fight back the Malware Writers that have made your life a misery, please take a look here and read what you can do against it. Please respond to this thread one more time so we can mark this thread as resolved.
