When closing windows--a small popup with the title "asD", the text reads release and then has a button "OK" On the toolbar--Virus Protect Pro --takes you to http://www.virusprotectpro.com/?aff=1012 Tried to use Pandascan --got to where you can pick what to scan. Anything you click opens a "coupon" and then restarts back to where you where and tries to reinstall the Active X controller. ie-spyad -- didn't download the .reg files, only text files--tried 3X Thanks in advance. Re: Hijacked--virus protect pro, w32.Myzor.fk@yf
Hi..
Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop. http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe.Run the application. Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd Reboot your computer in Safe Mode. If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on. Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again. Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected. Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode. Login on your usual account. Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool. Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish. You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter. A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if your computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply. Please post: c:\rapport.txt A new HijackThis log Your may need several replies to post the requested logs, otherwise they might get cut off ============================= Please perform a scan with Kaspersky Webscan Online Virus Scanner 1. Click the "Kaspersky Online Scanner" button (NOT "Kaspersky File Scanner"). 2. Read the Requirements and Privacy statement, then select "Accept". 3. A new window will appear promting you to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky - "Do you want to install this software?". 4. Click "Yes" or select "Install" to download the ActiveX controls that allows ActiveScan to run. 5. When the download is complete it will say ready, click "Next". 6. Click "Scan Settings" and check the option to use the Extended Database if available otherwise Standard). 7. Click "Scan Options" and select both "Scan Archives" and "Scan Mail Bases". 8. Click "OK". 9. Under "Select a target to scan", click on "My Computer". 10. When the scan is complete choose to save the results as "Save as Text" named kaspersky.txt to your desktop and post them in your next reply. Kaspersky does not remove anything but will provide a log of anything it finds. On August 8th, 2006 Kaspersky updated the software used for Free Online Virus Scanner. In order to continue using the online scanner you will need to uninstall the old version (if previously used) from your Add/Remove Programs list and then install the latest version. To do this, follow the steps here and reboot afterwards if your system does not reboot automatically or it will show 'Kaspersky Online Scanner license key was not found!

Re: Hijacked--virus protect pro, w32.Myzor.fk@yf
There is improvement. :) The hijacking seems to be over, but Kaspersky found some viruses. It's my friend's computer that I'm cleaning for her, and she hasn't emailed me the log yet. I'll do that this afternoon. While I was there yesterday AVG healed a trojan downloader.

Re: Hijacked--virus protect pro, w32.Myzor.fk@yf
This is very hard trying to do this via a second person. It would be better if the log was posted by your friend... lexpps.exe if for the Lexmark Printer and is safe to accept. As for the virus I suggest this....
Download Superantispyware (SAS) free home version from HERE Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it. · It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes. · Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button. · Click the Scanning Control tab. · Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked: o Close browsers before scanning o Scan for tracking cookies o Terminate memory threats before quarantining. o Please leave the others as they were. o Click the Close button to leave the control center screen. · On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer. · On the left check C:\Fixed Drive. · On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan. · Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer. · After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK. · Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next. · It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes. · To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following: o After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop. o Click Preferences. o Click the Statistics/Logs tab. o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log. o It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad). o Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy. · Click close and close again to exit the program. · Please paste that information here for me regardless of what it findswith a new HijackThis log. This will take some time!!!!!!!!

Re: Hijacked--virus protect pro, w32.Myzor.fk@yf
I go to her house and do it all for her. She's not computer saavy at all. :) I left her house with Kaspersky running and told her to email me the results. She just talked to me earlier and her spamguard blocked it from sending out. I will go do that part tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
Thanks. |

Re: Hijacked--virus protect pro, w32.Myzor.fk@yf
Well, now that the initial issue is gone and not hijacked anymore she doesn't seem to be as worried about it. She keeps saying she's busy.
Thanks for your help, Pancake. I don't want to waste any more of your time. |
