Spybot Resident floods the desktop!
HI,
Here's the problem. When I boot I get to the desktop and before long the little "Resident" Spybot windows appear. There are only two of them, but they seem to multiply and continue to multiply more and more until my screen is nearly covered, and there is no end to these until I stop the Spybot program from running. Earlier this week I had the box come up from Spybot whether to accept or not these into the registry. I wasn't sure where they came from...so I tried no, yes, didn't matter...still that registry box appeared until I finally after a couple days of this, clicked the little box in there (I guess it was the blacklist box) and then I created the present problem. I had recently downloaded software for my printer from HP, deleted the Google toolbar...which is the program I think this stems from. This is the information in each of these windows (boxes): They are titled "Resident" ITBar7Layout (category User-specific browser toolbar) based on your blacklist. Resident denied change of {2318C2B1-4965-11D4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} (category User-specific browser toolbar) based on your blacklist. I made it through your 5 things to do first, barely. I am obviously no computer genius, so I hope I can follow further instructions. Thank you very much. Pixie7 |

Re: Spybot Resident floods the desktop!
I found the solution in the Safer Networking Forum>Software>Spybot-S&D. The answer was titled "Solution to fix the pop-ups in TeaTimer". It solved the problem, actually two problems I had with Spybot. I am a happy camper.

Re: Spybot Resident floods the desktop!
Hello Pixie7,
Thanks for letting us know you've found the solution to this issue. When you have problems with a tool/program, it usually is best to first seek assitance from the Help/Support section of the makers of the program.
