HiJackThis needs to be run in normal mode in order for us to see what's running on your system. Running it in Safe Mode tends to hide some entries which could be malicious. Please post a new HJT log in Normal Mode.

The results of the scans don't make me feel any better about these two entries. No Google hits is suspect. Do you recognize these entries?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1F86EC00-A049-4774-8476-D12655235972} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\urisixml.dll O21 - SSODL: Tcputdsk - {F8690A2F-833E-42BE-9CE1-12E0C5529F86} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\urlolsap.dll Please see if you can gather any more information from the file properties. Right click on each file C:\WINDOWS\system32\urisixml.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\urlolsap.dll and go to Properties. Then go to the Version tab and see what information you can get from there (Company, Description, etc.) and post it here.

I have right clicked both files,,and unless I am doing something wrong,,there is no "version" tab. The only info is that it says for both that they are application extensions, but that the application is unknown.
Thank you so much for your continued work. Skuddbuster |

Ok, let's get rid of them and do a thorough cleaning.
Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download AVG Anti Spyware Use the link at the bottom of the page under "AVG Anti-Spyware Free for Windows" ![]()
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download and install CleanUp! NOTE: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, make a backup of these before running CleanUp!. Do NOT run this program if you have XP Professional 64 bit edition. If you're unsure please do not run it! If you don't already know, you're probably not using XP64, but you can download & run this tool to find out for sure.....http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...p_whichcpu.exe Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows: Click "Options..." Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!" Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. It may ask you to log-off/reboot at the end, if it does please do so. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. Make sure to close any open browsers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan Only'. Check the following entries if they exist (make sure you do not miss any) and click Fix Checked O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1F86EC00-A049-4774-8476-D12655235972} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\urisixml.dll O21 - SSODL: Tcputdsk - {F8690A2F-833E-42BE-9CE1-12E0C5529F86} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\urlolsap.dll Close HijackThis now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delete these files if they still exist: C:\WINDOWS\system32\urisixml.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\urlolsap.dll Run AVG Anti-Spyware with it's updated definitions:(...it's important that all windows must be closed)
Restart in normal mode. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
![]()
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open Hijack This and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please return with logs from: AVG Anti-Spyware Panda HJT

It's ok, I can read it....
Before begining the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan Only'. Check the following entries if they exist (make sure you do not miss any) and click Fix Checked R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - (no file) R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - - (no file) R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file) Close HijackThis now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: MyGlobalSearch --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab: * Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders. * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option. * Also make sure there is no checkmark beside Hide file extensions for known file types * Click Yes to confirm and then click OK. Delete the following if they exist: c:\windows\ss3unstl.exe C:\Program Files\MyGlobalSearch If it resists deletion, boot to safe mode after this next step, and delete it from there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copy and paste the following into Notepad (don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4): Quote:
![]() Close Notepad. Double click on the delete.reg file and choose Yes to merge/add it to the registry. You may delete the file afterwards. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reboot your system. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update. Updating Java:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open Hijack This and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan using Internet Explorer at http://www.kaspersky.com/service?chapter=161739400 Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.

Mostly as requested
Below you will find the HJ log. However, I could not get the kaspersky program to work. Even after allowing the active x to download nothing would happen. I tried and tried but to no avail. If you would suggest another online scan, I will be glad to do it.

Hmmm, that's odd. It's Active X is not installed.
I'm just looking for any remnants. I see you use BitDefender, so let's give that one a go. Go here and do the BitDefender online virus scan.
-------------- How is your system behaving, please?
