Sorry for the delay....
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix. Please download FixWareout from one of these sites: http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/file...Fixwareout.exe Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal. Once the desktop loads a text file will open (report.txt), you can close it - the file has already been saved. Run HijackThis. Click "Do a System Scan Only", and place a check next to the following items (if found): O1 - Hosts: localhost 127.0.0.1 O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{D9FBE83F-CEE9-4D99-996F-5501F92FA792}: NameServer = 85.255.113.134,85.255.112.104 O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{DDCDDFFD-0E5C-473D-8343-8530035FB186}: NameServer = 85.255.113.134,85.255.112.104 O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.113.134 85.255.112.104 O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.113.134 85.255.112.104 Click FIX CHECKED. Close HijackThis. Finally, please post the contents of the text file that opened earlier (you can find it at C:\fixwareout\report.txt ), along with a new HijackThis log into this topic. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No problem, I didn't want to sound impatient either.
O1 - Hosts: localhost 127.0.0.1 was no longer there on the hijackthis Also, since I had posted, I had killandclean.exe starting up on my computer, so I unchecked that so it would not startup. If you've disabled any startups via msconfig, please re-enable them, do NOT reboot when it asks, and post a new HJT log.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.
It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please submit the following file to Jotti File Scan C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMCPL.EXE At the top of the window you should see "File to Upload & scan" and a blank box. Copy and paste the red text from above into the box. Then click "submit". When it is finished, please copy and paste the information listed under "Service" and "Scanner Results" here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download Ewido Anti-Malware
Download and install CleanUp! NOTE: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, make a backup of these before running CleanUp!. Do NOT run this program if you have XP Professional 64 bit edition. If you're unsure please do not run it! If you don't already know, you're probably not using XP64, but you can download & run this tool to find out for sure.....http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...p_whichcpu.exe Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [KillAndClean] "C:\Program Files\KillAndClean\KillAndClean.exe" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. Make sure to close any open browsers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: KillAndClean --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab: * Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders. * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option. * Also make sure there is no checkmark beside Hide file extensions for known file types * Click Yes to confirm and then click OK. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delete the following if they exist: C:\Program Files\KillAndClean C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSEKW.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMBPD.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMCPL.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\{CE3151F0-8F07-4CB0-894D-7C8CA1D9AD2A}.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\{EAB99301-64E5-47BB-92EC-43199426A0EC}.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\{DD18A98B-63E6-46B2-B804-E99A5C5C4164}.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\{747983B4-D801-4179-8F1B-A18A69606E5F}.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\{4487A806-4097-48E8-BE0A-CC8FDD2A7CBB}.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\{5DBA0D1D-5CDA-4923-93BD-1E751A7A061A}.exe --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows: Click "Options..." Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!" Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Do NOT Reboot/logoff when prompted. * CleanUp! will not create any backups!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run Ewido with it's updated definitions:(...it's important that all windows must be closed)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Restart in normal mode. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We need to update your Java as it is out of date. The older version is a security risk, as malware writers exploit the weaknesses in it's code. Updating Java:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan Click on the "Free To Use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please return with logs from: jotti scan Ewido Panda HJT

Clear your IE cookies. Start>Settings>Control Panel>Internet Options>General tab>under Temporary files, click on Delete Cookies.
Download CWShredder and run it. Click on Update. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and then click OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit. I have attached a file to this post - pred.zip Download this file to your desktop. Double click on the zip folder, then double click on the reg file within. Click yes to allow it to merge into your registry. --------------------------------------------------- Go to Start>Run then copy and paste, or type the following, then press Enter: regsvr32 /u occache.dll Delete these if present: c:\windows\system32\search.html c:\windows\downloaded program files\f3initialsetup1.0.0.15.inf c:\windows\inet20099 Go to Start>Run then copy and paste, or type the following, then press Enter: regsvr32 occache.dll --------------------------------------------------- * Click here to use the F-Secure Online Scanner It's explained there with images how to allow the ActiveX to start the scan, so read that first.
Also post a new HJT log. How is your system behaving now, please?

i'm posting from a different computer but the F-Secure Online Scanner is still cleaning it says, but it's been 5 hours. However, the window hasn't froze as they have been in the past. The computer is running much better, but I will check it again tomorrow to see if in fact the F-Secure Online Scanner did freeze, and redo tomorrow if needed.

Wow, Ok.....I'm in the same boat....a system I have in my hands has been running Panda for over 3 hours now.
Let me know. We have other tools at our disposal.

Yes, let's have a look....there was nothing to fix in it last time...I was using a second scanner in search of remnants.
Let's use this quick little tool instead....
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

hmm.....combofix is stuck on Disk Cleanup, it had one and says Scanning and looks like it's about 90% done....but then it opened another Disk Cleanup and it just says Cleaning and is at 0%. I'm afraid to hit cancel and interrupt the program but it looks like that is my only choice. It's been going for a good 10 minutes

Leave it be for another few minutes.....depending on system resources and size of disk, it can take a few minutes....patience, and don't click on the window.

Jeez, yes.....can't figure that one out.
Hopefully it would still produce a log. If so, please post it. In any case, post a HJT log.
