Cannot run downloader software

Hello,

I installed Internet Download Manager 5.18 but a pop up message came up saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate oermissions to access the item".

I have reinstalled this software and tried to run it again, but the same thing happens. Even, I run it as administrator, windows still cannot access it. Several days ago, my Kaspersky gave warning that said This downloader makes a change behaviour, and I chose 'Block the application'. Since then, the downloader cannot run anymore ... even I have reinstalled it. Is this the cause of the above problem?

Please I need this downloader to run so much.

Here is the DDS scan:

Re: Cannot run downloader software

Quote:
Several days ago, my Kaspersky gave warning that said This downloader makes a change behaviour, and I chose 'Block the application'. Since then, the downloader cannot run anymore ... even I have reinstalled it. Is this the cause of the above problem?
It would be the first place to look. Go into the Kaspersky control panel, and find where it keeps block lists, remove the program from the list if you trust it.

Re: Cannot run downloader software

Hello Tetonbob,

Thank you for your reply.
I have just put the application into the 'trusted application' in Kaspersky Control Panel, but still windows comes up with the same pop up message ( I also run it as administrator, but same thing happens here).

Anyway, when I run the system in safe mode, it was able to run and an icon of the downloader appeared in systray. .... It could ran in safe mode and there was no any pop up message I saw. Then I got back to normal system, and tried to run it, but it couldn't (the same pop up message came up again).

How could this happenned?

Best Regards,

Re: Cannot run downloader software

If it runs in Safe Mode, and not in Normal Mode, I'd suspect that Kaspersky is still blocking it.
