Start up problem
Hey, I posted a thread previously discussing my problem. However, since I only have access to my computer on the weekends I believe it was shut down due to lack of activity. You can view the information I provided here: Start - Up issues[moved from xp]
I ran the dds program fine and the results are below however gmer.exe would not run on my system. I would double click and it would be completely unresponsive like some of my other spyware programs as I previously descibed. This is what I have though: DDS (Ver_09-05-14.01) - NTFSx86 Run by Jeremy at 15:20:20.90 on Sat 05/30/2009 Internet Explorer: 6.0.2900.5512 BrowserJavaVersion: 1.6.0_11 Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600.3.1252.1.1033.18.2045.1387 [GMT -4:00] ============== Running Processes =============== C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k DcomLaunch C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k rpcss C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k NetworkService C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalService C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalService C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Service\AdskScSrv.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\cvpnd.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k HTTPFilter C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3D max\mentalray\satellite\raysat_3dsMax2008_32server.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\PnkBstrA.exe C:\WINDOWS\ehome\RMSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalService C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k imgsvc C:\WINDOWS\system32\UStorSrv.exe C:\Program Files\Linksys Wireless-G PCI Wireless Network Monitor\WLService.exe C:\Program Files\Linksys Wireless-G PCI Wireless Network Monitor\WMP54Gv4.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\WMPNetwk.exe C:\WINDOWS\ehome\mcrdsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\alg.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehtray.exe C:\WINDOWS\CTHELPER.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTXFIHLP.EXE C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CTXFISPI.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DLA\DLACTRLW.EXE C:\Program Files\Dell Photo AIO Printer 924\dlccmon.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlcccoms.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\DMXLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Spybot - Re: Start up problem
Let's try this version of gmer.
Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here to your desktop.
**Caution** Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

Re: Start up problem
Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.
It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate. Stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms diminish. Lack of symptoms does not always mean the job is complete. Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by me or another helper at this forum. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan. This type of infection allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files without your knowledge. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation. Re: Start up problem
Thank you for the help. Again I don't have access to my computer until the weekend so I won't be able to try combo fix until then. Please don't think I am ignoring your post or have solved the problem. Also the majority of my sensitive files and information (banking and passwords, as well as research, pics, videos etc) are located on my internal D-drive. It is a data drive with no running programs to my knowledge. I was wondering if that is susceptible to back-door Trojans and I need to worry about securing that information or just information on my C-drive.
Thank you for your time |

Re: Start up problem
If it's on the same machine, you should consider it as risk. Follow the precautions, please.
The machine should be kept offline until you're able to work the fix.
