win-spy monitor

spy sweeper found win-spy monitor on my machine. so i quarantined it, but i haven't deleted it yet. is this program completely gone or do i need to delete from the registry and if so how to i do that? Also, how did this get on my machine? I haven't opened any suspicious emails, so did someone with access to my computer put it on there?

i ran norton 2009 antivirus and it came up clean. i also searched for the program and couldn't find it, so is it gone? i need to do some work now but i'm concerned that the computer is being monitored. should i download any other programs to make sure it's gone?

could someone tell me what these DDS and gamr programs are that this site says i should download? i don't want to put out any information that is personally identifiable or could put me at risk, which is why i'm reluctant to download them. could someone tell me what these programs are or tell me another way to make sure this winspy monitor is gone? help is appreciated.
