I keep getting what I think is a pop up or spyware but I am not sure. The titles above come up in IE and no matter what I do to reset my homepage, (I am with NTL/Virgin Media) it resets itself to about::blank and www.count.cc - even during a session browsing the pop up will appear.
I also get one from spyware begone but at least I can shut that one down once it appears. It is still annoying though. I've tried reading other postings but the ones that mention about::blank are very complicated and I can't make head nor tail of them. Your Forum was able to help with another problem I had, via the RAM and power supply support section. I was directed to this section for specialist help. Re: about::blank and www.count.cc and Spyware Begone
Hi and welcome,
If you still need help please provide the following logs: Download Deckard's System Scanner to your Desktop.: http://www.techsupportforum.com/sect...eckard/dss.exe http://deckard.geekstogo.com/dss.exe Close all applications and windows. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts. When the scan is complete, a text file will open - Main.txt Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of Main.txt here. A folder, C:\Deckard\System Scanner, will also open. In it will be another text file, Extra.txt. Please attach Extra.txt to your post. Note: some firewalls may warn that sigcheck.exe is trying to access the internet - please ensure that you allow sigcheck.exe permission to do so. To attach a file to a new post, simply Click the[Manage Attachments] button under Additional Options > Attach Files on the post composition page, and copy and paste the following into the "Upload File from your Computer" box: C:\Deckard\System Scanner\Extra.txt Click Upload. What DSS will do: --create a new System Restore point in Windows XP and Vista. --clean your Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, and Internet Cache Files, and also empty the Recycle Bin on all drives. --check some important areas of your system and produce a report for your analyst to review. --System Scanner automatically runs HijackThis for you, but it will also install and place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop if you do not already have HijackThis installed. If it is the infection I think you have... likely will take a couple rounds to clean it up. Thanks :)
