?Linux Scan for XP Rootkit?
I am running an .ISO Linux(Ubuntu) to copy my XP .jpeg/MP3/docs etc. files with Brasero CD burner because my XP is seized up with Rootkit.win32.Agent.pp and Virtob. This has been succesful & Im hoping NO Malware files have piggy backed this Linux Backup(because Windows isnt running). My question is: Are there any Linux based scan/ removal tools like Combofix or Win32.diag that I can use to scan these files backups & eventually try a REMOVAL before I resort to a Fornat C:/ and Re-install. (My Compaq did not come with an XP CD?)
I am hopeful after seeing some threads where Compofix, Win32.Diag. etc. have been successful in cleaning out these Rootkits, backdoors. and other w32 damaged files. Im a 77 yr. old pensioner- so any helper will have to be patient with me! Thanks in advance for anyone,s thoughts on this invasion!! |
