Hi, i am running vista and using avast anti virus.

The problem i have is that recently, everything i install seems to be either moved or locked.

The shortcuts dont work to get to the application 'error, can not find file location, it has been moved'
Some installs wont run and when i go to the folder i cant access it, move it, delete it...nothing
i have gone through the 'security, change of ownership' and still cant get in them.
an unlocker allows me to open the main root folder but i still cant get into any subfolders of the particular programs.

When running avast it comes up with a fair few locked folders which avg cant scan.

Obviously i know there is some malware on my computer causing this (although avg is giving it a clean bill of health bar the locked notices) but how do i find it, clean it and restore my locked folders/ delete them to reinstall?

Hi, i folloewd the advice in the sticky about the log reports.
DDS worked fine but the GMER wont open (from the run prompt after downloading) which is typical of the problem i am experiencing
