Help! Strange sounds and iexplore.exe*32 out the wazoo!
Let me start by saying Im not a computer guy. My computer is doing that thing where it plays clips of sounds randomly. I did a search on it and found this sight. The posts I have read dont seem to apply. I think the sounds are coming from iexplore. I only have 1 explorer window open and my task manager has 4 listed. I have seen 20 at one time. They are eating up memory. between 49,000 and 69,000k for 2 of them and the rest are between 1,000 and 7,000k. I have run norton 360 through its paces and it found 1 cookie. It fixed the cookie but nothing else. My computer is only 4 months old so I dont think I broke it yet. So basically I have 2 questions.
1-What is it? 2-How do I fix it? Thanks. PS. Im not a computer guy. Please use small words. |

Re: Help! Strange sounds and iexplore.exe*32 out the wazoo!
Forgot to say Im running vista. Also The sounds are coming from the ghost explorers. I played with the volume mixer and muted the internet explorer. There are now 17 iexplorer.exe files running according to the task manager. I only have the one window open. Also every now and then a little box thing pops up and says "this tab has been recovered" but its not pointing at anything.
