W32/Koobface.worm mstre22.exe & sber17.exe hijaker help

Working on friends PC with virus and Malwarebytes removed mstre22.exe and sber17.exe but still cannot get to any antivirus website to update the software, most other sites are easily accessable. Ran hijackthis and following log was reported... system is denying writes to host file:

ok so the newer version of Malwarebytes found DNSChanger trojan, think I found my reason for the sites being blocked... any advice on safe clean and thorough removal here?

HijackThis is no longer the preferred initial scanning tool in this forum as it no longer provides enough information in regard to today's malware.

dubstyle Registered User Join Date: Sep 2009 Posts: 2 OS: windows xp	Re: W32/Koobface.worm mstre22.exe & sber17.exe hijaker help ok so the newer version of Malwarebytes found DNSChanger trojan, think I found my reason for the sites being blocked... any advice on safe clean and thorough removal here?
