Daughter's computer frozen - unable to load windows

I have received great help on this forum in past years - thank you for looking at this.

My daughter's computer has been running slowly for a few weeks, and in the past few days would keep freezing as windows was loading or within the first few minutes of running a program.

I was able to download spybot after a few tries of restarting, and ran spybot while in safe mode (the only place where no freezing takes place). Spybot got rid of a bunch of things.

But, the freezing problem still exists, and is now worse - I cannot get the computer to get past the first Windows XP splash screen - it freezes on loading windows. I have tried a number of times, but no good.

Computer: Dell Optiplex GX260
Running Windows XP - Service Pack 3
Always has running AV - Trend Micro PC-Cillin, updated
Use IE6

Is there any help you are able to give me, since I cannot connect that computer to the internet to download any programs, and everything right now would have to be done in Safe Mode?

Thank you for any help you can give!

Re: Daughter's computer frozen - unable to load windows

Hello trekrobyn,

Use another computer to download the needed tools to a usb drive, and transfer them to the desktop of the problem computer. Run the scans from Safe Mode.

You'll find the tools and logs we require listed in our sticky topic New Instructions - Read This Before Posting for Malware Removal Help

here are the logs

In the end, DDS and and attach came from dds run in safe mode, but gmer was able to run fully in regular full windows - normal mode. Don't know if that makes a difference in anything.

As I said in the first post - daughter's computer is running slowly, freezing often (sometimes freezing at the windows splash screen, necessitating starting in safe mode). I am concerned about malware somewhere...

Computer: Dell Optiplex GX260
Running Windows XP - Service Pack 3
Always has running AV - Trend Micro PC-Cillin, updated
Use IE6

Here is the DDS text (run from safe mode). The GMER scan was able to be done in normal windows mode. If you need me to try to re-run dds in normal mode, let me know and I will try.

THANK YOU!!! :)

Re: Daughter's computer frozen - unable to load windows

I'm sorry to say that I'm not seeing any malware here. You mentioned that Spybot removed some things. Do you have that log?
