[SOLVED] Absurd internet speed.
Hi there:
3 days ago when I was trying to download a Tv show episode from http://thepiratebay.org/ (I won't do it again in a long time :() with uTorrent my computer froze, I restarted and when I oppened uTorrent my computer froze again. Then I scanned my drive for malware and norton found a backdoor thing and a tracing cookie; it deleted both. Then my internet speed went from 2Mbps to .2Kbps (ridiculous). And said that I had no connection (wireless). I reset de modem, reinstalled drivers etc. but nothing worked. I am writing this on my ubuntu partition. I even formatted the vista partition with windows 7 RC and the problem was solved, then, when I moved my files from the windows.old folder. my internet speed went to .2Kbps again! (on vista). I did ipconfig/release,renew and it said it cannot proceed because the specified file could not be found? that was weird. I then runned netstat when I do not even know what it does nor what is it for and got this: Proto Local Address Foreign Address State TCP 127.0.0.1:49301 Alejandro-PC:49300 TIME_WAIT TCP 127.0.0.1:49308 Alejandro-PC:49309 ESTABLISHED TCP 127.0.0.1:49309 Alejandro-PC:49308 ESTABLISHED TCP 127.0.0.1:49310 Alejandro-PC:49311 ESTABLISHED TCP 127.0.0.1:49311 Alejandro-PC:49310 ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49280 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49281 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49282 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49283 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49284 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49285 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49287 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49288 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49289 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49290 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49291 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49292 204.2.241.160:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49299 bay24-f40:http TIME_WAIT TCP 192.168.1.67:49305 px-in-f105:http TIME_WAIT TCP 192.168.1.67:49306 74.125.155.106:http TIME_WAIT TCP 192.168.1.67:49312 dsldevice:http TIME_WAIT TCP 192.168.1.67:49313 dsldevice:http ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.67:49314 dsldevice:http SYN_SENT TCP 192.168.1.67:49315 dsldevice:http SYN_SENT TCP 192.168.1.67:49316 vip1:http SYN_SENT I have no idea from where the 127.0.0.1 ip is, it does not belongs to my network. I will run the programs from the read first thread and post it if you ask me to. I forgot to mention, that when I opened the piratebay.org page, a misterous PDF file downloaded and tried to open by istself but was blocked by norton internet security 2009. That happened like 3-4 times. Last edited by Alejandro_2509; 09-18-2009 at 03:30 PM. |
