I have recently been hit with an itteration of the 'Total secruity' fake antivirus software.
The malware affected alot of aspects of my machine but after following a few guides, I deleted the application data of the virus (if you are affected look for a folder with a random number like 112345512 in your documents>all users>application data) and finally zapped it with Malwarebytes. By doing this I've managed to remove the virus (as far as I know) and mend most of the damage. However, one thing that I can't seem to fix is my internet browser, regardless of which program I use (internet explorer, mozilla, etc..) I simply cannot browse the internet, a page will begin to load up then the progress bar will display as if it has finished loading the page but there is nothing displayed, just a blank screen. I've tried fiddling with the settings, reinstalling, even a system restore but I cannot work this out. Can anybody advise how to fix this? Additionally, spamming the refresh will occasionally force a page to properly display (something like, 1 in 10 attempts to view a page will load correctly) Any help will be most appreciated! |
