Help please?
Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting in right section etc but I need some help getting rid of some virus I think I have.
I recently rebooted my whole computer so it was back to scratch, before I even had chance to put an antivirus on I think I got a virus. I couldn't download things like Live Messenger or AVG but have since managed to put Kaspersky on, only the trial version for now and I ran a full system scan in safe mode which took over 15 hours!! It found a couple of trojans. That seemed to solve the problem of being able to install Live messenger etc but I still keep getting hijacked in google and parts of websites like the adverts come up as page can not be displayed. I have looked at your forum at a previous thread about adds not displayed and it gave instructions to run Hijackthis and save to a folder HJT in C drive which I have done and run system scan, it then came up with the report in notepad so I have the results but now I need further instructions? Its all jargon to me! I'm no computer whiz! So Leymans terms would be good lol!! Any advice would be good. Many thanks in advance Sue |

Re: Help please?
Hello and Welcome to TSF.
We no longer use HijackThis as our initial analysis tool. We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a Quote:
------------------------------------------------------ Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new thread, as this one shall be closed. If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply. Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply. ------------------------------------------------------ |
