Out of the blue over past few weeks experienced redirection of websites eg bbc.news or google to slirsredirect.aol or slirsredirect.hp and unable to access any webpages. Have tried full system restore with recovery disks (as system restore function did not work) twice but problem returned. Tried once using hard disk recovery partition but problem was still present. I have immediately updated Norton and Windows downloads but problem creeps back from either somewhere on-line or within my PC. I have a wireless connection.
Full system restore last night enabled me to connect to internet to undertake a Hijackthis log. Hope someone out there can help me - thanking you in advance! Re: slirsredirect recurring internet explorer problem
Hello and Welcome to TSF.
We no longer use HijackThis as our initial analysis tool. We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply. Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply. |
