dc1.dll, defrag, and locking computer
My computer server has been locking up for the past 3 weeks. It got to the point where it wouldn't boot up without a windows error and checkdisk was running every time i turned the computer on.
I did a system repair with my XP disk and got it to boot, then did disk cleanup. Now i'm trying to do a defrag, and it's fauling. First the analysing started faiing because of a file associated with Speedfan, so i uninstalled that. Now it's failing on "C:\recycled\dc1.dll" The computer still locks up, but it takes a lot longer now than it did before. When i ran the repair install, it refused to run setupdd.sys because of an incompatiable hardware..i removed one of the 256 sticks, and it progressed. Now i only have one 256 stick in the computer. AMD Duron 1200 MHz ASUS deluxe board MX3000 gfx 20 GB hard drive

Re: dc1.dll, defrag, and locking computer
And in a jinx, after i posted this, restarted, and tried again, it passed analysis and is now defraging, albeit slowly.
It's at 12% after roughly an hour or so.
