Some Crazy Virus - Please help

My computer has been infected by a virus.

Its a windows xp sp3.

Currently, that computer is very helpless.

I cant launch the applications on it, launching firefox, google chrome and many other applications give me an error.

Firefox.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x7cb29f09" referenced memory at "0x7c81dd33". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program.

And using internet explorer just gives me a blank page..

I have avira antivir on my computer, it gave me a warning of codec.exe
But i was foolish i thought it was a false positive so i allowed it.
After the computer restarted, everything went wrong..

Right now i'm using my laptop to post on this forum, i suspect that the virus has also disabled the wireless connection, i cant seem to connect using wireless lan.

Please help me.

Update:

Internet is still not working. Internet explorer can be launched. But blank page.

Firefox gives the error message.

I reverted my registry to a backup i made 1 month ago.

Now some applications start working again and some dont.

Dvd Drive is disabled by the virus.

Internet too.

It keeps showing a spoolsv.exe error.

Help please.
