eDonkey 2000 pop-up driving me to drinking

Hello all;
Recently for whatever reason, whenever I start up our single home computer in the morning, I will constantly keep receiving a pop-up type window from 'eDonkey' speaking about stealing movies and music and how I am breaking the law. Let me first say that my wife and I are the only ones that use this computer and we have never downloaded any music of any kind or movies so this is perplexing how this came to be.

Can anyone please in simple terms, tell me what I can do to remove this permanently from our computer? I run Norton anti-virus and also run adAware. I have Windows XP on this computer and it is an older model with the Pentium 4 chip. The pop-up message that keeps showing up is as follows:

If you steal music or movies, you are breaking the law.

Courts around the world -- including the United States Supreme Court --
have ruled that businesses and individuals can be prosecuted for illegal
downloading.
