My computer keeps automaticly shutting off by itself, i think there is a script or somthing that tells my computer when to shut off, whenever i scan with spy bot search & destroy half way through the scan my computer shuts off and reboots itself only to shut off again. Other times it just randomly shuts off, i have had this problem before and the only way i know how to get rid of it is to reformat but i dont want to loose all my files so please help.

Hello and Welcome to TSF.

We no longer use HijackThis as our initial analysis tool.

I would suggest the reason your computer shuts down by itself is due to the fact you have two antivirus applications installed, namely Mcafee and Avast. Having two such applications running on the same machine can cause a multitude of problems including but not limited to a system crash.

I would advise you uninstall one of them and if the problem persists, follow instructions below.

We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a link at the top of each page.
