Can't update any security software

I am not able to update my antivirus, windows update or MalwareBytes. I have the autoupdate turned on on my antivirus but a screen came up the other day telling me the definitions were out of date, but when I try to update them, it tells me I've failed to connect. When trying to download Windows updates and Malwarebytes updates, I get exactly the same thing.

There is other software on my computer which can do an update and my laptop is able to get to update everything so it's not a network issue.

A Google search led me to believe with was an infection by the Conficker virus, but I have ran the removal tool from Symantec, F-Secure and a full scan with the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (which took 9 hours ) and they all tell me my system is clean. Add to the fact that I'm able to get to all the respective websites, just not able to update the software.

I have downloaded the definitions for my antivirus manually, as well Malwarebytes and ran a full scan in safe mode and both tell me I'm completely clean. I even ran an online TrendMicro scan as well as analyzing my hijack this logs and everything is telling me my system is fine.

System Restore is switched off, I've deleted all shares, checked my MSConfig for odd start up files and been through all the processes in task manager and nothing seems out of place, yet I still can't update! I've also checked that the software firewall is allowing everything and that Windows firewall is completely disabled. I also tried re-installing the AntiVirus & Firewall, but now I can't reactivate it because it says it can't connect to the server!

Help please, I'm going mad.
