Hey everyone. This is my first time posting as I am a new member. I've been having a lot of computer trouble. I consider myself an established computer user. However, I'm stuck. I downloaded your software and the following are the results. I want mail.yahoo.com to be my homepage. I also use yahoo as my main mail source. Please help. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to TSF
Not much in your log just a few .... Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. You have placed HJT in a Temporary location. Please move to a proper location before doing the fix. (Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders or Desktop. A good place to make a folder would be in My Documents, as this is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.) The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! ( Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. You will use this later. Go to My Computer >Tools >View >Folder Options tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing / visible. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files option. Reboot your system in Safe Mode (By repeatedly tapping the F8 key until the menu appears). Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any) O3 - Toolbar: McAfee VirusScan - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\MCVSSHL.DLL (file missing) O16 - DPF: Win32 Classes - Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Empty your Recycle Bin. Reboot your System in normal mode. Please post a fresh Hijack This log so that we can check if your system is clean. If you want to try to change your Home page click Start>Control Panel> Internet Options >General tab> first options> type in www.yahoo.com and click Apply

Ok, I did what you said in the exact order. I did forget to move HiJack to another location. So, I had to download it and then move it. Then, I performed the operations you gave me. CleanUp! deleted 6,616 files and 546.4MB space freed. Cool! So, at your convenience, will you please check my updated Hijack report and advise. Thanks!
PS. If I'm reading this log correctly, you will probably tell me to do it again and check O9 - Extra button: Research - {92780B25-18CC-41C8-B9BE-3C9C571A8263} - C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~3\OFFICE11\REFIEBAR.DLL (file missing) and O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file). I want my home page to remain as mail.yahoo.com. Thanks! You can remove this
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) Other than that your log looks clean. Are there any problems? If not, you should be set to go. It would probably be a wise to set a "new" system restore point. This will rid the chances of going back to a bad restore point. Follow these instructions: Turn off System Restore by doing the following: Click Start > Right Click My Computer > Properties. Click the System Restore tab and Check "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives". Click Apply. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this then Click OK. Then just enable it again.

Wow
Thanks so much for all of your help. I had already created a restore point afterwards. No problems here! You are great! By the way, my initials are TJ too.
