Re: slow security scan

No, it was a damaged remnant of a legitimate application, which was using system resources.

Please continue with the remaining instructions. If you take it step by step, you'll be able to complete the next tasks.

Re: slow security scan

I'm not sure I understand the question....you're to download the tool from the link I gave you. When you do so, save it somewhere you can find it, such as on the desktop.

Re: slow security scan

Please run Deckard's System Scanner once again, and post it's log.

It's possible that it's no longer on your system, since in your first log, it seemed as though you chose to "Run" instead of "Save" when it came to downloading dss.exe

So...I'll give you the link again.

http://www.techsupportforum.com/sect...eckard/dss.exe

Download dss.exe, and save it to your Desktop.

Double click on it to run it.

Post the resulting log.

Re: slow security scan

You're doing great. We should be almost done here.

I'd like to see just a bit more information.

Please run Deckard's System Scanner once again, this time using these instructions:

Click the Windows 'Start' button > Select 'Run' - then copy/paste this into the run box & click OK
"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config
Click on "Check All"

Click Scan!

When finished, it shall produce two logs for you. Post those logs in your next reply.

Re: slow security scan

Great!....but it looks as though parts of each log got cut off.

Can you repost them please?

To help ensure you get all the info out of each logfile...

Copy ( Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) the info to clipboard (one log at a time), and then go to the reply window, and paste (Ctrl+V) the info from clipboard into the reply window as you've just done.
