My computer is infected!

A tray icon suddenly appeared and it says that my computer is infected.

When I click on it, it downloads an antispyware called Zinaps Antispryware 2008. I've tried uninstalling it, but it keeps installing itself back.

Help?
I also added the results from the Panda ActiveScan.

The DSS results.

Re: My computer is infected!

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode if needed. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

As part of installing the Recovery Console, ComboFix will begin to run. Follow the prompts to install the Recovery Console. Your desktop may disappear. This is normal. It will return.

Once the Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see a message that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log.

If you have any questions along the way, STOP and ask them before proceeding.

Re: My computer is infected!

Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs) if they exist:

    AdVantage (Powering DAEMON Tools)

    It's adware.

    http://www.sophos.com/security/analy...advantage.html

Daemon Tools is reported to work just fine without this.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P2P - I see you have P2P software ( Limewire, BitComet ) installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to re-infections. It may be contributing to your current situation. This page will give you further information.

Please note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P filesharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.

References for the risk of these programs are here,
    here and here.

I would strongly recommend that you uninstall them, however that choice is up to you. If you choose to remove these programs, you can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with ComboFix.
  3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

    Quote:
    http://www.techsupportforum.com/security-center/hijackthis-log-help/261430-my-computer-infected.html#post1550996

    File::
    C:\Documents and Settings\New Administrator\My Documents\best ever.exe

    Collect::
    C:\Documents and Settings\New Administrator\Application Data\001485be514.dat
    C:\Documents and Settings\New Administrator\installer.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\New Administrator\Application Data\hsrnj.exe

    Save this as CFScript.txt

Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

  4. Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
  5. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

When ComboFix finishes running, the ComboFix log will open along with a message box--do not be alarmed. With the above script, ComboFix will capture a file to submit for analysis.

Ensure you are connected to the internet and click OK. A browser will open. Simply follow the instructions to copy/paste/send the requested file.
  6. Ensure your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications are re-enabled. A reboot should have done this.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. Please download HijackThis to your desktop

    Alternate link

Double-click on the file you just downloaded.
Click on the "Unzip" button to install. It will by default install to the directory - C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis

Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.

Should it not open, navigate to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis and double click on HijackThis.exe

    1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.
    2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log.
    3. Post the hijackthis.log file here. Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.
