Constant popups--Vista Antivirus 2008
When we use Internet Explorer, windows keep on popping up, at varying rates. It seems that clicking a button or link often causes a new unwanted popup to occur.

The computer has been behaving quite nicely for the past 48 hours or so (I've been leaving it on, but am only using it to follow your posts and remove the malware). Even though IE has been started and closed many times, I haven't seen any unwanted popups. Also, by clicking on "My Computer" in Kaspersky, it tried to scan the mapped drives on my network-attached WD WorldBook (used for backups). After about an hour it was only 3% done, so I stopped the scan and restarted, directing Kaspersky to scan my C: drive only (the only local drive). Hope this was the right thing to do...
