Re: Google links redirected to new sites & unable to update flash player...

Hi!

Well, it seems that re-installing CA fixed the problem. I'm able to watch the videos and don't have issues with the websites that had problems with the flash player. Thank you so much for your help these last couple of days! Both the google issue and flash player problems are fixed. I'm thinking that if I have any flash player issues in the future I'll follow the last couple of steps to fix it. Hopefully I won't see the google issue in the future either; I did install the spywareblaster as recommended and so hopefully that will kick in. Again, thank you so much for your help!!!
Oh, I'm thinking that erasing all the download icons and the saved logs on my desktop won't be a problem correct? I'm only keeping the spywareblaster and that's pretty much it. Thanks again!

Re: Google links redirected to new sites & unable to update flash player...

Yup, you can delete those.

Congratulations! Your log looks clean!

Configure Windows Xp to hide system files:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Do not show hidden files and folders.
  • Check the Hide protected operating system files option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:
  • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
  • Select Create a restore point, and Ok it.
  • Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
  • Select the More options tab
  • Choose the option to clean up system restore and OK it.

This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created.
