Recently was hit with a wave of popups and internet slowdowns...

Any help would be much appreciated. I cannot instannt windows recovery console because I am using XP PC Tablet Edition 2005 and only have the manufacturer's bundled CD.

Popups and Internet slowdown (Vundo and Nebuler suspected)

I ran Symantect AV in safe mode, followed prompts to delete some replicated virii, then Spybot S&D and deleted virtumonde, and finally adAware. However, the problem still persists.

ComboFix is a tool which should not be run unless directed to by an experienced and trained helpers.

Please delete your existing version, and look for and delete the folder C:\ComboFix

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode if needed. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once the Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see a message that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.



Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log.

If you have any questions along the way, STOP and ask them before proceeding.

Here's my problem with Windows RC:

I am running Windows XP tablet PC edition 2005, and it came bundled with in the manufacturer CD. Hence, I don't think I can install RC from it.

Regarding the manual install of RC without an XP CD, I tried but it does not seem to work with XP tablet PC edition 2005.
