lpcywinp.exe problems

I have searched for a way to remove lpcywinp.exe, but no luck. Bitdefender is unable to quarantine this, or C:\Install=>(Embedded EXE g)

Adware.Renos.XB
GenPack:Adware.Malwarealarm.I

these are also unable to be quarantined by BitDefender.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My HijackThis log is below. Thank You.

Re: lpcywinp.exe problems

This requires your immediate intervention. I notice that you have more than one anti-virus programs on your machine (AVG & Symantec). That's not a good idea!!

This messes up the machine pretty badly. Alike firewalls, anti-virus programs have conflicts co-existing with each other & may produce undesirable results. Please uninstall ALL leaving only one of them.

ALL the antivirus programs must be removed via add/remove program.
For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this:
re-install the program -> reboot -> uninstall
## Do NOT proceed with the rest of the fix until you have resolved the dual antivirus programs ##

---------------

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Code:
File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mcrh.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jpewocmz.ini
Folder::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vlt2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rex2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\doc4
C:\WINDOWS\system32\bbc5
Save this as "CFScript"

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you, C:\ComboFix.txt. Post that log in your next reply.

---------------

Using Internet Explorer, visit http://www.kaspersky.com/service?chapter=161739400

Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
  • The program will then begin downloading the latest definition files.
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Locate the Scan Settings button & configure to:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended
    • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
      • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK & have it scan My Computer
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.

  • Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

---------------

In your next post, please include fresh logs from:
  1. Online scan
  2. ComboFix's log
Please provide details of any problems you encountered whilst performing the above steps & update us on how the computer behaves now

Re: lpcywinp.exe problems

This is to be performed after you have posted the required logs.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1 - http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u2-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.

waiting on kaspersky

Sorry for the delay in replying. Also, thank you so much for your help. I am still waiting for the kaspersky scan to finish. It has repeatedly slown down for various executable files. It has however found 2 viruses and 5 infected objects -- all of which will be more meaningful after the scan/log are finished.
Well, while I continue to wait...here is the combofix log. The computer is operating more quickly, the desktop is default (as opposed to virus wallpaper), and the computer does not seem to verociously suck down pop-ups and internet trash.
Thank you again for your help and I will post the kaspersky log once it is ready.

Re: lpcywinp.exe problems

Open NOTEPAD.exe and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Code:
@echo off
if exist "%temp%\log.txt" del "%temp%\log.txt"

for %%g in (
"C:\Documents and Settings\James\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\jvmsecman.jar-69ee0d96-23610417.zip"
) do (
del /a/f/q %%g >nul 2>&1
if exist %%g echo.%%~g>>"%temp%\log.txt"
)
if exist "%temp%\log.txt" ( start notepad "%temp%\log.txt"
) else echo.Deleted Successfully !!
pause
Start ComboFIx /u
del %0
Save this as fix.bat Choose to "Save type as - All Files"
It should look like this:
Double click on fix.bat & allow it to run

Post back to tell me what it says

Re: lpcywinp.exe problems

Ran the fix file. It outputs delete successful then prompts combo fix is unistalled. Not knowing if this was the intent, I created a combofix log and then reran the fix file. The output and result was again the same (delete successful, combofix uninstalled). I have kaspersky program running in my system tray - kaspersky repeatedly prompted action for regedit attempts and system changes. I allowed combofix to enact changes; however, after combofix was uninstalled and subsequent changes were attempted upon my system files I allowed kaspersky to deny those changes.

Hmmmm...
here is the final combofix log that was created before rerunning the fix file...
