Worm-cmd.com? Need help. :(

Hello, it has been so long since I have been here, but, it seems I've gotten myself into something again! I have a few issues it seems, they may all be related as they all just started at the sametime. I ran spybot search&destroy before I came here as well as AD-aware, to try and remove the problems. Both said they would have to delete things at the boot-up. So I let them run again, and they still couldn't remove them, saying that is may be something in the physical memory.

My computer is now running very slowly and unstable. I am getting pop-ups. My browser is crashing(which also kept happening when I was trying to do the step where you do the online scan with Panda, I'm afraid I was unable to succeed at that.). Both S&D and Ad-Aware, mentioned "cmd.com" as being on there. Also, something called "Command Services", "Hotsearchbar", "PSW.WOW", "Smitfraud-C.CoreService", "AdRevolver", "BurstMedia", "DirectTrack", "Double Click", "FastClick", "MediaPlex", "WebTrends live". Those are all on there. And I just got them now(ran S&D), I will not remove them until told to. As I am writing this, I am either getting pop-ups, or freezing for absurd amounts of time. I will paste the logs and attach the files requested. Hope we can fix this sometime soon together. Thank you for all time and help given.

Re: Worm-cmd.com? Need help. :(

Hi WickedL

You are quite heavily infected, so this will take a few runs to clean out please stick with me until you are pronounced clean

===========================

Please read this post completely before begining the fix. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Please ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T MISS A STEP & PERFORM EVERYTHING IN THE RIGHT ORDER.

===============================================

Additional Downloads

Please download these additional files/programs. Do not run them until instructed to do so.
Unless otherwise stated, they should be stored in same directory as the HiJackThis program.

===============================================

We will be cleaning out the Temp folders so before proceeding any further, please move dss[1].exe from C:\Documents and Settings\Charlie\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ZAJTZN2X\ to your Desktop
===============================================

Download Combofix and save it to your desktop.

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

===============================================

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

===============================================

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

=================

Please Run a scan with HiJackThis and save the log

=================

In your next post, please include fresh logs from:
  • ComboFix.txt
  • HiJackThis
Please provide details of any problems you encountered whilst performing the above steps & update us on how the computer behaves now

Re: Worm-cmd.com? Need help. :(

Hello, alba.

Sadly, I can not even complete the nextstep:We will be cleaning out the Temp folders so before proceeding any further, please move dss[1].exe from C:\Documents and Settings\Charlie\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ZAJTZN2X\ to your Desktop

The above mentioned folder/file will not turn up in my search. I am not sure if the file is hidden or not though. I aplogize for the delayed response. If there is a certain time that you will be on, that may help a bit more. Any suggestions that I should try out? Almost tempted to just go buy a new hard drive. HeHe. Thank you for all given. :)

Re: Worm-cmd.com? Need help. :(

Hi WickedL

Do you recognize these files
C:\WINDOWS\V2lja2Vk\pZ53uZp4.vbs
C:\Documents and Settings\Charlie\Application Data\Pamela_Crash_46B604E1.zip

Please read this post completely before begining the fix. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Please ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T MISS A STEP & PERFORM EVERYTHING IN THE RIGHT ORDER.

==================

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the code box below into it:

Code:
File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d9caps.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ngsh35.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system\sngsh35.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ngsh40.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Sngsh40.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvvv.dll

Registry::

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{279A1B41-6CAC-4ABF-B39C-72C8E489F685}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{7D9CB362-375B-4FB9-8024-E55079CC69D1}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{EA5159DF-E413-4878-8AE2-D921D41BB942}]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"sms_msn40"=-
"sms_msn"=-
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ArtChk"= -
Save this as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you, C:\ComboFix.txt. Post that log in your next reply.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

===============================

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner

Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
  • The program will then begin downloading the latest definition files.
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Locate the Scan Settings button & configure to:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended
    • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
      • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK & have it scan My Computer
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
  • Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

=================

Please Run a scan with HiJackThis and save the log

=================

In your next post, please include fresh logs from:
  • ComboFix.txt
  • HiJackThis
  • Onlinescan
Please provide details of any problems you encountered whilst performing the above steps & update us on how the computer behaves now

Re: Worm-cmd.com? Need help. :(

Hiyas, alba. Thanks for your patience. That scan took...2:22 minutes, would have posted sooner of possible. :) Shows...5490 infected files and 15 virsues. Crazy. Many I have no clue what they are or most. I also did not know what the two files you mentioned are. Here are the logs: Online Scan is attached;

Re: Worm-cmd.com? Need help. :(

Hi

You have posted the wrong combofix file, but as it is that is ok we need to run it again anyway,
Go to your C:\ drive and delete any ComboFix.txt files that are there before we run it again that will save any confusion

==============================

Most of the infected files are in D:\Downloads\Shared\ I am afraid you will have to delete everything there.
The safest way is to just to delete the folder and make a new one

=============================

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the code box below into it:

Code:
File::
C:\WINDOWS\sngpw40.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ngpw40.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sms_msn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sms_msn40.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\stup3.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Charlie\Application Data\Pamela_Crash_46B604E1.zip

Folder::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cp1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ib1
C:\WINDOWS\V2lja2Vk
Save this as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you, C:\ComboFix.txt. Post that log in your next reply.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

==============================================

We need to run a different online scanner but once you have deleted the Downloads folder it wont take as long hopefully

Go here and do the BitDefender online virus scan.
  • Click "I Agree" to agree to the EULA.
  • Allow the ActiveX control to install when prompted.
  • Leave the scanning options at default and press "Click here to scan" to begin the scan.
  • Please refrain from using the computer until the scan is finished.
  • When the scan is finished, click on "Click here to export the scan results"
  • Save the report to your desktop then come back here and post it in your next reply

=================

Please Run a scan with HiJackThis and save the log

=================

In your next post, please include fresh logs from:
  • ComboFix.txt
  • Bitdefender scan results
  • HiJackThis
Please provide details of any problems you encountered whilst perform
