how can I remove this file...

wuauclt.exe. This file had been added this morning when my bro was on the internet and received a pop up that gave me quite a few of spywares. I was able to remove the critical spywares but I'm not sure if there are still other spywares on my computer because my computer starts up very slow but after it had started up, everything goes fine. I tried running a spyware scan but all it finds are tracking cookies. here is my HijackThis log file:

Re: how can I remove this file...

Re: how can I remove this file...

Hi theReaper0908,

Welcome to Tech Support Forum!

I apologize for the delay getting to your log. The helpers here are all volunteers and we have been very busy here lately. If you are still having malware problems, I will be glad to help.

OK, here’s what we do first.

First of all, please rename HijackThis.exe to HJT1991.exe. This is because I suspect that your system may have a Vundo infection that is hiding some entries from HijackThis.

NEXT:

We will need to disable a few security applications as they may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

To disable Ad-Aware’s Ad-Watch:
  • Right click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray and select "Restore Ad-Watch".
  • At the bottom of the screen there will be two checkable items called "Active" and "Automatic".
    • Active: Switches Monitoring On or Off without closing
    • Automatic: Switches Automatic Blocking On or Off
  • Uncheck (red X) both items.

To disable Windows Defender:
  • Open Windows Defender.
  • Click on Tools, General Settings.
  • Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you re-enable Real-time Protection again.

NEXT:

Please download VundoFix.exe by Atribune and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
  • Once you click YES, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HijackThis log.

NOTE: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears at reboot. Run VundoFix and scan for Vundo as many times as necessary until VundoFix says "No infected files were found".

NEXT:

Please download ComboFix by sUBs:

NOTE: In the event you already have ComboFix, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

NEXT:

Please REBOOT your computer normally into Windows and post these logs in your next reply:
  1. The log from the VundoFix scan.
  2. The log from the ComboFix scan.
  3. A new HijackThis log.

(You might have to paste the logs in multiple posts in the event they are too long and breach the post length restrictions of the forum software).

Also, please let me know how things are running now and if you encountered any problems while you were following the directions I posted.

Re: how can I remove this file...

Hi Sempurna, thanks for the reply,

Last night, before you posted a response, I had found out about vundofix and ran it on my computer, it deleted 4 files and after that, my computer was back to normal... well not quite. I still get pop ups that I know isn't from the site I'm visiting cause sometime when I open up google, pop ups appears. But when I ran vundofix, I had ad watch and windows defender on, so I ran it a second time following ur instructions and here is my new vundofix log:

Re: how can I remove this file...

Hi theReaper0908,

You’re most welcome, theReaper0908.

OK, let’s do this next.

First of all, we will need to disable a few security applications as they may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

We need to disable your Windows Defender real-time protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

To disable Windows Defender:
  • Open Windows Defender.
  • Click on Tools, General Settings.
  • Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

NEXT:

Please run HijackThis and click "Scan". Place a check (tick) next to the following entries (if present):
