Hi Terry,
Welcome to Tech Support Forum! ![]() I apologize for the delay getting to your log. The helpers here are all volunteers and we have been very busy here lately. If you are still having malware problems, I will be glad to help. OK, let’s do this first. BEFORE BEGINNING, Please read completely through the instructions below. Please also print these instructions or copy them to Notepad (or another word processor), and save it for easier reference. This is because we will be in Safe Mode during the fix and you won’t be able to access the Internet to view these instructions. 1. Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri):
NOTE : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user. http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm 2. Please download CCleaner and save it to your desktop:
3. Please download and install SUPERAntiSpyware
4. Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following:
5. Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd:
WARNING : Running Option #2 on a non-infected computer will remove your desktop background. 6. AFTER SmitfraudFix finishes (and after a reboot if required), please run CCleaner. (If a reboot is required, please boot BACK into Safe Mode)
CAUTION : Please do NOT use the Issues button. This is a built-in registry cleaner. If you don’t know how to use it, you may cause irreparable damage to your system. 7. Then please run a scan with SUPERAntiSpyware: IMPORTANT : Do NOT open any other windows or programs while SUPERAntiSpyware is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning process.
Please REBOOT normally into Windows. Then post the contents of the SmitfraudFix log located at C:\rapport.txt into this thread, along with the SUPERAntiSpyware report and a new HijackThis log.

having trouble
Hi i done as you said, but seem to be getting the wrong programme through ccleaner, getting registry cleaner etc.
I have pasted the smitfraudfix, but superspyware didnt have anything to report. I am now going to try and find the ccleaner. I think I have still got a problem with my explorer, I try to make google my home page, but it wont have it. it just reverts back to msn page. Well im going to go through the process again and see what i come up with this time. |

Hi Terry,
![]() No worries about not being able to attach any log. Just copying and pasting them in the post is fine. ![]() Your not being able to change your homepage could be due to SpySweeper not allowing that change. Disable SpySweeper and see if you can change your homepage or not. Things are looking good. Your HJT appears to be clean. But, let’s run a couple of other scans to make sure we’re not leaving anything behind. NEXT: CLICK HERE to use Panda ActiveScan:
NEXT: Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner:
NEXT: Let's run another diagnostic scan to make sure we're not leaving anything behind. Please download ComboScan by Deckard and save it to your desktop:
Note: Some firewalls may warn that sigcheck.exe is trying to access the internet - please ensure that you allow sigcheck.exe permission to do so. NEXT: Please REBOOT your computer normally into Windows and post these logs in your next reply:
Also, please let me know how things are running now and if you encountered any problems while you were following the directions I posted.

You're most welcome, Terry. I'm glad to hear that things are running better now.
![]() Did you manage to run the scans and get their logs?
