Mistake Slow Computer and Many Pop-ups

Hi -

I was working with Lobos regarding a problem before the server crash.

Lobos - this is what we have done so far...

You had me remove wintools and uninstall 2 toolbar programs. I sent a message saying I could not uninstall a program called DealHelper or something. Had a picture of the box so you knew why. You also wanted me to run Housecall but everytime I log into the website, it says it is already running.

Your last reply was for me to run Adware 6.0 and Spybot S&D to see how much they could clean up.

Here is how it went.
I installed and ran Adware 6.0
(nice program by the way)
I fixed all 300-some items
I restarted my computer
Adware 6.0 ran again on start-up
I fixed all 60-some items
I restarted my computer
I ran Spybot S&D
Only found a DSO exploit.
Fixed and restarted the computer
Ran Spybot again
Found DSO exlpoit again.
Fixed and restarted the computer

Ran HiJack This:
(I had to have someone email the log so the spacing might look a little funny)

Went through the steps as follows:

Checked everything you asked me to check in Hijack This. Fixed all items.

Set system so I could see hidden files and rebooted into safe mode.

Went to delete files:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msgked.exe - Didn't Find
C:\WINDOWS\System32\gdiapi32.exe - Didn't Find
C:\WINDOWS\System32\atcoxd.exe - Deleted
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmr0i.exe - Didn't Find
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm - Didn't Find
C:\WINDOWS\sysupd.exe - Didn't Find

Deleted directory C:\Program Files\SEP

Went to C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Temp and deleted everything...
Got an error on one file - CmdLineExt02:Access Denied
The only file left in the directory is CmdLineExt02.dll

Deleted internet stuff
Emptied recycle bin
Rebooted
Ran Hijack This:

The computer still starts up a little slow and I am getting pop-ups. It is MUCH better than when we started. It looks like my IE is not hijacked as the page I set now sticks.

I am going to run Housecall now and see what happens.

Do you see anything else?

It appears you may have the pepar trojan

Download the PeperFix.exe tool from here:

http://downloads.subratam.org/PeperFix.exe

Click on the PeperFix.exe to launch it.

Click the Find and Fix button.

It will scan the %systemroot% folder and locate all the peper files. You will be prompted to reboot. Reboot and it will delete the peper files.

run hijack this fix this line if there

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [3FGQ96S2383XEZ] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmr0i.exe

Come back and post another log

Installed and ran the Peperfix program. No Peper files were found.

I had ran housecall last night at it found 8 viruses. I was unable to clean any so I delelted them all.

Looked in Hijack This and did not see the item:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [3FGQ96S2383XEZ] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Fmr0i.exe

So...

I just saved the log:

Some new information:

Ran housecall again and found the following:

trojanagent.ab
says noncleanable
Can't get a file name from housecall since it is too long.
deleted the file.

just wanted to let you know.

your log looks clean

you might want to end one of tthese processes

i don't see why they would need to be running twice
