Hello and welcome to TSF!
Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked. For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep). Download, unzip to your desktop CWShredder and run it, then: 1. Click "Check For Update" (If an update isn't available, skip to step #4.) 2. Click "Click here to Download the upate". 3. When the new version has been downloaded, click "Save". 4. Click "Fix ->" =============== Let's look for, and delete, any program segments(prefetches) that might be present, and are associated with the 'problems' we're trying to remove from this system. To do this, let's: 1) Click "Start | Search", then search for each of these program's base name(s), in all files and folders: udpcheck.exe* 2) Then if any are found in the 'prefetch' folder, delete them. Look closely, since the 'base' name will have a bunch of random numbers and letters attached to it. =============== Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present: Messenger Plus! 3 MessengerPlus MyWebSearch The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software. =============== Next, we need to remove(uninstall) the 'lop' infection by going to here, then downloading and running the uninstaller(s) that relate to the application(s) your wanting to remove. The following selections are available: "Start page", "Search engine", "Accessories Toolbar". After uninstalling any (or all) of the above, let's see if we have anything in "Scheduled Tasks": Download, unzip and run ScheduledTasks.bat (courtesy of ddeerrff), and when notepad comes up, post the contents back to this thread. =============== Next, Open a command prompt by: 1. Clicking "Start", then "Run...". 2. Enter "cmd" (without the quotes). 3. Enter "services.msc" (without the quotes). - Now, locate and 'stop' the following services, if present: tcp checker ... (tcpcheck.exe) TCPIP Managing Service (TCPIPManagingService) - Brought to you by the Bandwidth Bandits ... (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\tcpcheck.exe) Look carefully, since the name of the service (above) can be anywhere in the entry; also be careful not to 'stop' any required system services. =============== Run HiJackThis then: 1. Click "Config..." 2. Click "Misc Tools" 3. Click "Open Process manager" - Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following: C:\WINDOWS\system32\tcpcheck.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\udpcheck.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 3\MsgPlus.exe Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain. =============== Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.znacuexevtewrilqk.info/X...7cI7C2cTl1.html R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.njgpcyrtlrl.biz/Xt7WLJHp...7cI7C2cTl1.html O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MessengerPlus3] "C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 3\MsgPlus.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tcp checker] tcpcheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [ATIUpdater] atiupdxx.exe O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [tcp checker] tcpcheck.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [tcp checker] tcpcheck.exe O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [ATIUpdater] atiupdxx.exe O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [tcp checker] tcpcheck.exe O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Works Calendar Reminders.lnk = ? O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html?p=ZSxdm120 O16 - DPF: {733A5CA7-C0E1-41D7-9506-F4AA354B4500} (ActiveFormX Control) - O23 - Service: TCPIP Managing Service (TCPIPManagingService) - Brought to you by the Bandwidth Bandits - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\tcpcheck.exe Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked". =============== Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders: folders... C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 3 files... C:\WINDOWS\system32\tcpcheck.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\udpcheck.exe Search for... tcpcheck.exe atiupdxx.exe ...using "Start | Search...". - Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "[url = http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam]Safe Mode[/url]". =============== Post back a new log, and let us know how everything goes. |

Hi, there is nothing in particular wrong with messengerplus it is the partner programs that it installs when you install it. Namely LOP, it asks you if you wish to install these but defaults to yes. There is signs of LOP in your log so the best action is to remove the program and reinstall it without the partner programs once your log is clean.
Please print out or copy this page to notepad for easy reference when carrying out the instructions. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order they are listed. If you have any questions feel free to ask before carrying out the fixes. Show Hidden and System files: Go to My Computer >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing / visible. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files option. For the options that you have checked/enabled, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad, but you want to keep). Run an online scan at Trend Micro or RAV Antivirus. Please select the autoclean option when using Trend Micro. Please download all of the following programs before trying any of the fixes: Download CWShredder and click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you). If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Also go here to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds. Please download Spybot S&D and install it if you don't have it already. Run Spybot and click on the 'Search for Updates' button. Install any updates that are available. Next click on the 'Check for Problems' button. Let it run the scan. If it finds something, check all those in RED and hit the Fix Selected Problems button. Exit Spybot. If you keep getting the DSO Exploit entries, even after you updated Windows and fixed them, then download the Spybot DSO Exploit Fix and install it over the current Spybot installation. ========================== Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Add / Remove Programs Click > Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs and uninstall the following programs if they are there: Lop.com LOP SEARCH Window Searching Window Active Browser Enhancer Ultimate Browser Enhancer Search Plugin Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries, if they are still there.(make sure you do not miss any) R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.ffuuzzezcrfcggnnceuynlkb...7cI7C2cTl1.html R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.njgpcyrtlrl.biz/Xt7WLJHp...7cI7C2cTl1.html F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell= O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [ATIUpdater] atiupdxx.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [buildmfcd] C:\DOCUME~1\Robert\APPLIC~1\TRANSM~1\Mp3 List.exe O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [ATIUpdater] atiupdxx.exe O16 - DPF: {39B0684F-D7BF-4743-B050-FDC3F48F7E3B} (FilePlanet Download Control Class) - http://www.fileplanet.com/fpdlmgr/c...DC_1_0_0_44.cab O16 - DPF: {733A5CA7-C0E1-41D7-9506-F4AA354B4500} (ActiveFormX Control) - Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked. Delete the following Files indicated in RED and Folders indicated in BLUE if they still exist. atiupdxx.exe C:\DOCUME~1\Robert\APPLIC~1\TRANSM~1\Mp3 List.exe Reboot into Normal Mode and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Post the log up here.
