Need help with HijackThis Logfile. Can anyone please help?
I was a victim of the Isearch toolbar recently, and since then, i have encountered unending popups. I have hijack this, but i am not savvy enough to figure out what to do. here's the logfile from the analyzer.

Hi and welcome to TSF. If I can teach my Mom to get thru this cleaning, I KNOW you'll be able to follow along.
========== Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Before you do anything else, please create a folder for HijackThis and put it in a permanent folder (like C:\HJT) instead of the Temp folder. This is required because HijackThis will create backups and we don't want them to be deleted. Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked. For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep). Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point. Download CWShredder and run it. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree with it. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit. Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Also go here to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds. The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it): C:\WINDOWS\system32\xazjxb.exe C:\Program Files\AlertSpy\AlertSpy.exe Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: AlertSpy <<<it’s rogueware and we highly recommend that you uninstall it. Rogue/Suspect means that these products are of unknown, questionable, or dubious value as anti-spyware protection. WildTangent - This is an online gaming package that is installed by a number of third party applications and even OEMs, ISPs and AIM. The games aspect of this is really rather cool. The being installed without you asking for it isn't cool at all. They collect information about you and your usage. We recommend uninstalling it. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.isearch.com/index.php?app...DQ6NTo5&Terms= R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.isearch.com/index.php?app...DQ6NTo5&Terms= R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.isearch.com/index.php?app...DQ6NTo5&Terms= R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.isearch.com/index.php?app...DQ6NTo5&Terms= R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file) O2 - BHO: ZServObj Class - {00000000-C1EC-0345-6EC2-4D0300000000} - C:\WINDOWS\ZServ.dll O2 - BHO: BTGrabObj Class - {00000000-F09C-02B4-6EC2-AD0300000000} - C:\WINDOWS\BTGrab.dll O2 - BHO: ohb - {285B5CCD-C3F0-4EB6-9632-7D0A3C3AF824} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hsrb.dll O2 - BHO: IE Update Class - {5B4AB8E2-6DC5-477A-B637-BF3C1A2E5993} - C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\sysupd.dll O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tneytxuejgt] C:\WINDOWS\system32\xazjxb.exe O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [iSearch Toolbar Removal Tool] C:\Documents and Settings\The Stranger\Desktop\isearch_toolbar_removal.exe /VERYSILENT /NOCANCEL /NORESTART /SP- O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Desktop Search Removal Tool] "C:\Documents and Settings\The Stranger\Desktop\isearch_deskbar_removal.exe" /VERYSILENT /NOCANCEL /NORESTART /SP- O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Bonus Sites Removal Tool] "C:\Documents and Settings\The Stranger\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\7ESJZ1CL\isearch_bonus_sites_rem oval[1].exe" /VERYSILENT /NOCANCEL /NORESTART /SP- O8 - Extra context menu item: &iSearch The Web - res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\toolbar.dll/SEARCH.HTML O16 - DPF: {12F7F128-B36C-4843-8AA4-A5F71A969331} (Launcher Control) - https://horizons.istaria.com/controls/launcher.ocx O16 - DPF: {1C78AB3F-A857-482E-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - http://toolbar.isearch.com/general/drm.cab O16 - DPF: {39B0684F-D7BF-4743-B050-FDC3F48F7E3B} (FilePlanet Download Control Class) - http://www.fileplanet.com/fpdlmgr/ca...C_1_0_0_44.cab O16 - DPF: {3A7FE611-1994-4EF1-A09F-99456752289D} (WildTangent Active Launcher) - http://install.wildtangent.com/Activ...veLauncher.cab O16 - DPF: {AB29A544-D6B4-4E36-A1F8-D3E34FC7B00A} (WTHoster Class) - http://install.wildtangent.com/bgn/p...im/install.cab O16 - DPF: {DE910060-8EFB-44B9-B492-75180696643F} (iiittt Class) - http://www.hotsearchbar.com/toolbar30/hsrb.cab Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist: C:\WINDOWS\system32\xazjxb.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hsrb.dll C:\WINDOWS\ZServ.dll C:\WINDOWS\BTGrab.dll C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ C:\Program Files\WildTangent\ C:\Program Files\AlertSpy\ Run CleanUp! again. Thanks a million.
The instructions you gave me worked perfectly. I am amazed at the speed and quality of the reply. Thanks a whole bunch for your help.
The only thing odd i noticed in the process was that a few of the entries in the HJT log were missing the second time around. I am willing to wager that this is due to the previous steps you had me take, so i'm not worried. Anyhow. Thanks again. |

We're almost there.

Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing O16 - DPF: {AB29A544-D6B4-4E36-A1F8-D3E34FC7B00A} - http://install.wildtangent.com/bgn/...lim/install.cab Restart and run new HijackThis scan.
