Cookie Problems
I usually have my internet settings to prompt me before saving any cookies. My husband was on the computer the other day and a whole lot of ads got on the computer and a kalvsys virus or something. I think I got everything off and the pop-ups have stopped, but it won't prompt me before saving cookies anymore, it just automatically saves everything. I'm assuming something in my registry is messed up and I don't know how to find it, or fix it. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cookie Problems
Before you start tweaking your registry
make sure in your Pop-up Blocker Settings you have checked both boxes in the "Notification and Filter Level" area. In case you have forgotten how to do this (with so many new features happening in XP SP2) click tools in IE >Internet Options>Privacy and at the bottom of the page you will see the Pop-up Blocker area click Settings.

Please download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Double click on the program to run it.
1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'. 2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log. 3. Get HijackThis Analyzer and save it to the same folder as the hijackthis.log file. Run HijackThis Analyzer and type in y if you agree. The result.txt file will open up in Notepad. Copy the whole result.txt log and post it in the forum. We do not need the original hijackthis.log (unless we ask for it). Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.
