Bought it all and still not working right!

I have purchased McAfee Virus Protection & Spyware be gone and although this did speed things up (and clean some files) I am still experiencing an extremely slow internet connection ( I have DSL). I have noticed a lot of start up programs and a ton of things running in task manager but not sure what is what! I have researched a lot of the items but I know I still "things" floating around my computer that shouldn't be there. Can anyone help??

Please download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Double click on the program to run it.

1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.
2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log.
3. Get HijackThis Analyzer and save it to the same folder as the hijackthis.log file. Run HijackThis Analyzer and type in y if you agree. The result.txt file will open up in Notepad. Copy the whole result.txt log and post it in the forum. We do not need the original hijackthis.log (unless we ask for it). Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.

I'm not a big fan of McAffee. I'd use something else if I were you.
If you're a home user (that is, a non-comercial user) you can get a lot of good, free, anti-virus and anti-spyware software. Avast and AVG are the two Anti-virus programs I'd recomend.
AdAware SE, Spybot S&D TX, and Spyblaster are the three anti-spyware programs I'd recomend.
