Need help with userinit.exe problem
Hello Guys, hopefully you'll be able to help me. I'm helping a friend fix his computer. He runs a lenovo T61 with Windows XP 2007. I'm having trouble connecting to the internet on his computer at the moment, but I figured I try and see what you guys could do for me.
I'm not sure how he got this virus but I will describe it the best I can. When I log onto the computer I get an error message that says: "Userinit.exe...Application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005)." I get past that window and I cannot see any part of the desktop except the wallpaper. Windows is still running but I cannot see anything. I've been searching around and I've been accessing things through the task manager. I installed a Mal-Software program that I got from your site that I used on my own computer (it picked up 76 different kinds of problems). I got rid of them all and then restarted. Now I get this error about DLL C:\WINDOWS\System32\nnnlliIB.dll about icons as well as the userinit.exe error. Since then I haven't been able to connect to the internet. I would try to follow your directions before posting but I am unable to access the internet. What do you think I should do? Without the internet on that computer I'm running out of ideas. Thank you guys in advance, and if you need any other information to help you I'll do my best to fufill it. |
