IE opens windows on it's own
For the last month or so my IE will open another window with random sites. This happens almost everytime I put in a new web address or do search. The window that opens will jump from two to three sites then finally stay a he last one or be blocked by the site advisor. I have run McAfee, Spyblaster, and Panda with no luck. First let me say I am sorry for the late response. I have been having issues with the cable modem. I have another pop up problem. After scanning and going through the five steps I am no getting new windows opening with random sites. I am now having the window that I am in going to random sites. Many are logintracking101. They will go through many sites before stopping. It also erases all of the history when it switches sites.

Please save this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions. Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. ------------------------------------------------------ You have a new and different infection since your initial post. It appears that you installed PCErrorFix since your initial post. We do not recommend the use of registry cleaners. Our colleague miekiemoes has an excellent writeup here We suggest uninstalling it via Programs and Features in your Control Panel. If you uninstall it, also delete the following Folders if they still exist: C:\Program Files\PCErrorFix C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Roaming\PCErrorFix ------------------------------------------------------ BrowsingEnhancer also seems to be installed since your last post. Please read here If it is listed in Programs and Features, please uninstall it and anything else you do not recognize. ------------------------------------------------------ Disable your antivirus and antispyware applications, usually via a right-click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with HijackThis. ------------------------------------------------------ Right-click HijackThis and select Run as Administrator. Click on Do a System Scan Only. Please insert the zip drive/memory stick or whatever device is usually F:\ and keep it inserted during the scan. Please run this online scan to help look for remnants. In Microsoft Windows Vista, you must open the Web browser via a right-click using the Run as Administrator command. Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.
To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:

Re: IE opens windows on it's own
My computer doesn't have the crazy pop up anymore. It is running unbelievablely slow. McAfee found 2 infections when I turned it bak on sfter all the logs were done.
