I am running Win2K which mutil-boots with Win98. Win2K is fine and is NOT infected with this virus/malware, but I do have a virus/malware problem with Win98. It involves the MS File “OLEAUT32.DLL” which pops up and says that it cannot start the program. Programs involved are Norton’s, SpyWareStop, File Search from the Start Menu, and many others including any program that would allow me to search and find this damn culprit. It also will NOT let me start IE to get to the internet to goto an antivirus site.
I extracted the DLL file from the CDROM but it didn’t fix the problem. I ran Norton’s antivirus from Win2K and it did not show any virus’s. Somehow, I need to manually destroy this SOB using Win2K, but I don’t know the name of the virus. Any ideas? Thanks. |
