Cannot open certain web pages
So I've been having a strange problem in the past 2 days. Whenever I try to load certain web pages, I just get a "Waiting for <website>..." message in the lower left corner of the browser, and it doesn't do anything else... In specific, I've been able to get to google.com, but not execute certain searches (i.e. "bacon" and "final" work fine, for example, but "hats" and "support" do not); also, I can't access and part of Facebook save for www.facebook.com/home.php? (but the Facebook chat module fails to load). I've also been unable to access my Yahoo email, with my.yahoo.com loading sometimes, and other times just giving me the continuous "waiting" message.
The same problems also occur when using either Firefox or Internet Explorer. Re: Cannot open certain web pages
Bump!
Also, I've started getting some more problems... for example, animated gifs on many web pages are being replaces with anti-spyware ads, pop-ups occasionally appear for things like adultfriendfinder and fubar, and Firefox is occasionally running much slower than usual. Also, I've experienced what seems to be Explorer quitting and then starting up again from time to time. |
