Idiotic brother just uploaded the msn plus 3rd party sponsor thing thinking "UHHH this looks healthy UUHHH" (he's not great with computers)
Now bloody CiD adverts popping up every few minutes being a royal pain in the behind! if anyone of you more technologically advanced gods can offer a helping hand i would be much obliged

Explain, please? Malware removal thse days typically takes using tools other than Windows native tools or HijackThis alone

First thing to do would be to uninstall Messenger Plus! 3 (or Live) if you've not already.

Extract the contents to a new folder on your Desktop.
Within the folder, locate & double-click fl.bat.
It should produce a report at c:\findlop.txt. Post the contents of the report in your next reply
