spyware has taken over my machine, can only operate in safe mode - (not anymore)
I have tried to follow the threads in previous threads re: popups, stinkware and so much other crap. When I boot up in normal mode, the normal desktop icons appear briefly, then they disappear and I have to resort to various tricks to get into safe mode. Initially whenever I tried to access HJT everything would close up again except my basic desktop with background theme. I was going to post my log file but my other machine has just given up the ghost and now gives me a corrupt/missing file message

Welcome to TSF.
Do you can't boot up at all now? If you are using XP, try using the XP cd and enter the Recovery Console to repair it.
