CPU Randomly shoots up to 100% when Idle
undefinedundefinedundefined
I have a Dell Dimension 8300 and I'm running Wind XP Pro. About a week ago when I booted up I got a black screen with a red message telling me that my Radeon video cable wasn't attached and I couldn't boot up. My computer is only about seven months old and Dell sent a technician out and they replaced the motherboard, the power supply, the modem, memory, video card. It works now but the cpu will just shoot up to 100% when I have no programs open. I checked the Task Manager and it seemed that Mcshield.exe was hogging up resources and so I ended that process but now it's doing it again. I have researched this and am fairly certain that I have some crummy malware on my computer. I have a subscription to Spy Sweeper and I run SpyBot and Ad Aware and AVG Anti virus and none of them find anything. I have run Highjack this and below is what is the log. Can anyone please help me with this? You seem to have two antivirus programs running at the same time. That's a no no
. Either keep AVG or McAfee. Uninstall one of them. See if that fixes your problem.

I will uninstall McAfee but I dont think that is the problem because I was running both anti virus programs before all the hardward was replaced and didn't have a problem then. I should mention that just before my computer died on me that I was downloaded the newest version of Ad Aware and both AVG and McAfee popped up and said they detected a virus that could not be removed. I still have the feeling that I have some malware running here. Could someone please take a look at my highjack this log and let me know what they thing? Thanks a bunch!

I took a look earlier already. Not much to fix though.
Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file) O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msjava.dll (file missing) O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msjava.dll (file missing) Reboot into Normal Mode and post a new HijackThis log file so we can make sure it's clean. To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Section and use the tools provided.
