Can't install or type in Internet Browser : Antivirus / Firewall

Hi,

One of my friend have the following problem.

If he type in IE or Firefox the word : firewall, antivirus, mcafee, norton, ... or even click a link linking to a firewall/antivirus site, IE or Firefox close.

If I try to install a firewall or antivirus, the software won't install.

I suspect a virus. But which one and how to remove it.

Thx a lot to the one who will post the answer.

^_^

You are right to suspect a virus, that is a strange one.

Are there any specific error messages you can share when trying to install an AV program?

Why don't you try a very good, free, "off-brand" AV program called AVG? You can get it at http://www.grisoft.com

Give some more system specs too...OS, connection type, etc.

I do not know this product, but will say that many folks, like myself, who work in the computer industry, think very highly of AVG.

Geez, just try something that works........ :program:
