Confused Puppyboyz driving me nuts

I can barely use my laptop to browse the internet right now because of being hijacked. I get three popup messages asking me to dial up with my ISP to visit their sites (inc exploited.lsass.org, nube.nubela.net, *****.alboz-elite.net) and mostly my browser ends up at puppyboyz.com. When I click on my ISP icon to connect I only ever get The Page Cannot be Displayed. Often it ends up going to autosearch.msn.com.... I've run scans on Nortons (which, incidentally, no longer seems to work), the latest Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy and Trojanhunter. I've also done an online scan at ravantivirus.com which, although it seemed to identify some, didn't seem to fix them. None of this has got rid of the problem. Trojanhunter identified various trojans through the port scan, but I have no idea what to do once they're identified. Most of the scans kept coming up with something called gfgredt.exe which keeps coming back. The following is the hijackthis log:

Hi scorpionz
Can you please get the latest version of HJT v1.98.2 and put it in a a folder on its own and not in a temp one.Can you then post a fresh log...thanks.It might also help to get a more secure update to IE...IE SP1 is better.Without security updates you will continue to get malware.

EEK! Arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhh

It's been a nightmare trying to get to any websites. Because I added those sites to my list of Restricted sites, I keep getting Page Not Found, etc.
Anyway, I managed after much frustration to both download Microsoft updates and the later Hijack this. Here is the log:

Norton ran another scan and found a couple but left me with one infection. I ran this scan after the above log because I found it SO frustrating trying to get anywhere online to paste the copy of the log! I wasn't able to go anywhere. After the scan I managed, eventually, to get to a mail site to quickly paste the log onto a draft email. There's no way I can get here on my laptop, so I use other computers to paste the log here. What do I do next? It's driving me crazy

Hi scorpionz
Make sure you have already run Adaware, Spybot S & D(check for updates) and CWShredder as these will do a preliminary clean first. Some files below may not be present after running the above programs.

Then....
Turn off your System Restore. SEE HERE Reinstate it when your log is cleaned.Close your browser window and run hjt in safe mode... HOW TO RUN SAFE MODE and have "Hijack This" fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting "fix checked".
Folders that have been highlighted in RED will need to be uninstalled.Check first as some folders maybe uninstalled via the Add/Remove program. Files highlighted in BLACK will need to be removed from your hard drive. Make sure to have your system set to show hidden files and folders.. HOW TO SHOW FILES ..Please post a new log when finished...

Smile Whew

Hi,
I scanned with Adaware and Spybot. Didn't have CW Shredder and tried to download it, but at a transfer rate of 107 bytes per second it was impossible. However, I followed the rest of your instructions and here is the latest hijackthis log:

I've managed to get to this site without any hassles so everything has vastly improved, and I also downloaded CWShredder afterwords in a fraction of the time. Many Thanks!!! Am I clean?

Not clean just yet.....I will assume System Restore is still off and hidden files are still showing.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Run an online virus scan at TrendMicro or RAV Antivirus. Select the Autoclean option if you use TrendMicro.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up).

Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\slserv.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wuamgrd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\slrundll.exe

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Update Machine] wuamgrd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Update Machine] wuamgrd.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Update Machine] wuamgrd.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Micr Update] soundblaster.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [asus] asus.exe

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

Also delete ALL those EXE and DLL files (in their corresponding directory) listed above in RED.

Reboot into Normal Mode and post a new HijackThis log file so we can make sure it's clean.

Spoke too soon

Drat, I still got a popup asking if I wanted to connect to go to the *****.alboz-elite.net website. Grrrrr.
Still, it's vastly improved. But would like to totally get rid of them. They seem to keep returning...
Cheers

Ravantivirus identified wuamgrd and bling.exe. I presume I delete bling?
I tried doing as you said about killing the processes you listed. However they weren't listed. Instead I got the following:
smss
winlogon
services
lsass (is this a culprit?)
svchost (twice)
Explorer.exe
and hijackthis

Did the rest as per instructions and here is the log:

Hi
Just remove these two...wuamgrd.exe and bling.exe. Everything else is ok.

Deleted

Deleted bling. So is lsass ok? I only ask because this 'word' was part of a website address for those annoying popups.

Every thing is ok in the log and its clean. The lsass.exe could have been a different spelling like lssas.exe just to fool you,but the one in your log now is the genuine one.

Question Nooo

I don't believe it. My joy was short-lived. I try to open both Explorer and Mozilla and no pages at all load. On Mozilla I get, for example. www.mozilla.org cannot be found. On Explorer the page does not display. I just got another popup asking me to connect to go to another website - a new one which did not appear before. I will attempt to load a log. I'm currently running a Norton scan. Ran Trojan hunter which found nothing, although it said crsss.exe was missing. CW Shredder also found nothing. Found a couple of spyware on Adaware scan, but if I can't reach any websites, this is going to be another nightmare. (sigh)
Nortons found nothing. Maybe I'm panicking, because now, for some reason, the browsers are working. :| I give up. Didn't like the look of that popup though. However, here's another hijackthislog just to make sure: Cheers and sorry for bugging you.
