coolwwwsearch
have run cw shredder (fixed/restored 5,6,7 items)
trendmicro virus scan (deleted 4 files)
spybot (finds all sorts of things everytime)

My System

You have an outdated version of HijackThis. Click here to get the latest version of HijackThis.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also.

Download AboutBuster and unzip it to a folder on your the Desktop. Do not run it yet.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up).

Make sure to close any open browsers. Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

New.Net

Check and fix the following in HijackThis if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Run AboutBuster and follow the prompts to scan (choose Yes/OK for all). It will ask you if you want a second scan, choose Yes. Save the log file and post it here.

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the anti-spyware section and use the tools provided.

Your Spybot dll file is either damaged or deleted. Please download it here and copy it back to C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\

trend micro will not work now
now when I try do an online scan with trendmicro it will not get past the page where they ask you to trust.......

the scan windows comes up with a red x.

is this related to anything I've done in your instructions?

My System

Did you uninstall New.net?

Check and fix the following in HijackThis:

O3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

Delete:

c:\program files\newdotnet\

Restart. Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. Also make sure to customize the settings in Adaware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Restart again and post a new HijackThis log only.
